Getting Kikatv onto the screen
Read off the MAC and send it over
You will find it on the sticker beneath the box and again under Settings, then About or System. A MAG's MAC opens with 00:1A:79. Snap a photo of the sticker and send that to us on WhatsApp instead of typing it out, then hold until we confirm your portal is live before pressing on.
On a MAG, key in the portal address
Go to Settings, then System settings, then Servers, then Portals. Name Portal 1 whatever you like, drop in the portal address we sent, save it, and reboot the box. Nothing comes up ahead of that reboot, so do not judge it until you have restarted.
On a Formuler, work through MyTVOnline
Open MyTVOnline 2 or 3, choose Add Portal, and give it a name plus the portal address we sent. If you would rather, pick the Xtream Codes option and use the usual server, username and password. A Formuler will also run Android players such as TiviMate from the Play Store, should you prefer its grid guide.
Load the line-up and set it for the family
After the reboot the box draws in the 25,000+ channels with its own built-in guide. The remote's colored buttons run the favorites and the EPG, so build the children a favorites row of their own. These boxes also keep a parental-lock code in their settings, so set it and seal the adult group before the box becomes the family's everyday set.
Fixing the usual snags
The portal reads STB blocked, or shows a blank screen
Either we have not yet switched your MAC on, or a single character came through wrong when it was sent. This is precisely why a photo of the sticker beats retyping: send the picture over WhatsApp, we match it to your account, and it clears inside a few minutes in nearly every case.
The guide is empty once the portal loads
Give that first pass a few minutes to draw the program data across the whole line-up before you conclude it has failed, then reboot the box one more time. If it is still blank afterward, tell us on WhatsApp and we will check the guide feed tied to your portal.
The remote jumps or the menus feel sluggish
A MAG or Formuler leans on a steady wired feed, so a loose Ethernet lead or a tired Wi-Fi dongle shows as stutter in the menus. Seat the network cable firmly, give the box a reboot, and keep its firmware current from the settings menu; these boxes reward a wired connection more than any stick does.

MAG and Formuler box IPTV FAQ
Is a MAG box a better family buy than a Firestick?
For a set the family watches daily, yes: a nicer remote, a snappier guide, and never a thing to sideload, all of which count when several people share it. It runs you about 120 to 180 dollars against 30 to 50 for a stick. On a bedroom or spare set the stick is the better value and nobody notices the gap.
Can I put a child lock on a MAG or Formuler?
Yes. Both keep a parental-control code in their settings that locks the categories you select, so the adult groups stay behind a number while the children's channels remain open. Lay out a kids favorites list alongside it and the box becomes safe for the whole house to use.
Must I use the portal, or can I run an app?
A MAG lives on the portal. A Formuler leaves it up to you: the portal through MyTVOnline, an Xtream login, or an Android player such as TiviMate from the Play Store. Families set on TiviMate's grid and its Premium favorites and group hiding often run it on the Formuler and keep the portal in reserve.
Is a MAG or Formuler simple enough for a grandparent?
Very much so, which is part of their appeal for a shared household. Once we have switched the portal on, the box opens straight to live TV with a proper remote, a channel-number pad and an on-screen guide, much like the satellite box an older relative already knows. Arrange a short favorites list of their regular channels and there is nothing further to learn; no apps to open, no sign-ins to repeat.
What happens to my portal if I replace the box?
The portal is tied to the box's MAC address, so a new box carries a new MAC and needs switching over. Send us the new MAC on WhatsApp, we move your line across, and the fresh box is live after a restart, exactly as the first one was. There is nothing to pay again for the move itself; your Kikatv plan simply follows you to the new hardware.
What does a MAG or Formuler box cost, and does it last?
A MAG tends to sit around 100 to 180 dollars and a current Formuler a little above that, bought once with nothing further to pay for the hardware. Set against a stick at 30 to 50 dollars it looks dear, but these boxes are built for one job and tend to run for years on the main family set without the slowdowns a cheap stick develops. For a television the whole house uses daily, spread over that lifespan, it is money well spent; for a second room, a stick still makes more sense.
